Vejam o email que recebi da AA:Dear Mr....È verdade! Vejam o email que recebi da AA:

Dear Mr. Cavalcante,

We appreciate your recent email to AAdvantage Customer Service.

We offer elite challenges as a "fast track" to the membership you
normally would earn with elite-qualifying flights throughout the
calendar year. If you feel you could benefit from an elite challenge,
please be sure to contact us again so we can set up your account for the
right one.

Here's How Elite Challenges Work:

* Challenges are based on points, not miles, and the goals 10,000 points
in a designated three-month period to earn AAdvantage Platinum status.
The challenge must be programmed in advance, so you will have to contact
us again, either by replying to this message or calling 800-421-0600.
Challenges begin on either the 1st or 16th day of a month and last for 3
months. Be sure to let us know about a month before you wish to begin a
challenge.

* Once you've been registered for a challenge, all you have to do is fly
on American Airlines and earn the designated number of points. Flights
on American Eagle and AmericanConnection as well as AA codeshare flights
operated by other carriers also count toward your challenge.

* I can't emphasize enough that challenges are based on points, not
miles. You can accumulate points at a higher rate when you select
premium fares. But you can also purchase discounted fares to meet your
challenge -- you'll just have to fly more. As a rule of thumb, you can
earn 10,000 points (for an AAdvantage Platinum challenge) by flying
around 7,000 elite-qualifying miles on unrestricted Economy Class fares.
If you use Discount Fares, flying 10,000 qualifying miles will earn you
10,000 points. And if you choose Deep Discount Fares, it will be
necessary to fly 20,000 miles in three months in order to earn your
10,000 points. (All of these values are cut in half for an AAdvantage
Gold challenge.)

* When we program your challenge, be sure to ask us to send you a
follow-up email with more detailed information about booking codes --
and how to determine how many points you'll earn for the specific fare
you're purchasing. We don't want to overload you with too much
information right now!

* In general, if your challenge begins in the first half of the year, we
expect you to use the second half to reach the established criteria for
your elite level in order to requalify. In other words, say your
challenge begins June 1, 2007. When you fulfill your goal of 10,000
points, you will receive new credentials that are valid through February
28, 2008. In order to continue your status beyond that date, it will be
necessary for you to meet the full qualification requirements of your
level during calendar year 2007. That means earning 25,000
elite-qualifying miles/points or flying 30 qualifying segments from
January 1, 2007 - December 31, 2007 for AAdvantage Gold membership, or
earning double these amounts for AAdvantage Platinum membership.

* If your challenge begins in the second half of the year, even we
understand it might be difficult to meet the full qualification criteria
by year-end, so the new credentials you will receive for meeting the
goal will actually carry you through to the end of the next membership
year. For example, if your challenge begins October 16, 2007 then the
status you will earn when you meet the goal will be valid through
February 28, 2009.

* While a challenge is a shortcut, it's not intended as a permanent
route! We don't enable members to earn their elite status by fulfilling
a challenge two years in a row. So if you're on the challenge fast track
one year, please be prepared to requalify on your own the next year.

Remember, nothing is automatic, so if you want to take a shot at earning
AAdvantage Platinum membership by way of a challenge, don't forget to
contact us again -- about a month or so before you plan to start it. In
the meantime, think about when such an opportunity might be "doable" for
you, then just let us know!

Thank you for contacting us regarding this matter. If you have any other
AAdvantage issues or questions, please do not hesitate to let us know.

Regards,

Sandra H.
AAdvantage Customer Service
American Airlines

WE INVITE YOU TO VISIT THE AA.COM MILEAGE MAXIMIZER AT
http://www.aa.com/max TO SEE HOW QUICKLY YOUR MILES CAN ADD UPAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
